Who is AppSauna?
AppSauna.com is an online web site and community obsessed with Facebook games. Unlike most game sites we are not going to spend our time playing games and force feeding you our opinion. You log into Facebook to find out what your friends are doing and to share your opinion. We will do our best to put together promotions and bring you insider sneak peeks into the game industry but all game reviews will be posted by your fellow Facebook users. You will also have the ability to post strategy articles, but unlike reviews, we will do our best to convince the game designers to stop by from time to time and drop tips on the games they created.
What Information We Collect and How We Use It?
In general, you can visit AppSauna without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information about yourself. However, in order to use certain features of the site you will be asked to login using your Facebook account. The first time you login with your Facebook account we will create an AppSauna account for you using only your basic Facebook profile. When using certain features of the site such as posting comments, your information will be visible to other readers just as it is when you post a comment on Facebook.
At no point will we collect or ask you for your password, we actually have no way of seeing it. When you login with Facebook, we are only told that the login was successful and that you really are who you claim to be, but are not shown your password. For this reason, you will not be able to change any of your profile information except by logging into your Facebook account ON facebook.
AppSauna does not plan to send you email directly at this time. Should this change we will announce it on the front page and give you the option of opting out. Our plan for the near and distant future is to post all news items to our Facebook page. If you want to stay informed, like us on Facebook and you will see our news posts in your feed.
Through certain technologies, AppSauna plans to collects non-personally-identifiable information from users and visitors to this site. This non-personally-identifiable information may be shared with third parties to provide more relevant services and targeted advertisements to members. An example of this may be to reveal what percentage of our readers are of which sex, how many of our readers are under the age of 30 etc. At no point will we deliver personal information about a specific individual identified or not unless it is to a law enforcement agency.
Will You Use My Email For Anything At All?
Not at this time. We are always on the look-out for better ways to serve our community and it is not out of the question that a feature may be developed that gives you the option of receiving notifications. One example of this feature currently in development is the ability for us to run contests, however the rules of the contest will clearly state that winners will be notified via email. In general we will not send you email unless you opt into a service that states you will receive email as one of the requirements.
Can I Opt Out of Emails?
The short answer is No. The long answer is, we do not plan to ever implement a feature that will send you more than one email. So if you sign up for a contest you may receive an email informing you that you are the winner, but you will not continue to receive emails so there is no need to opt out.
What about Cookies?
We thing inedible cookies are evil and in general a bad way to identify and service our members. At this time we do not see a reason to store cookies on your machine. Our advertising partners may however use cookies to help them better target or track their ads which will not affect your interaction with the rest of the site.
